On the Commemorative Event Dedicated to Victory Day

09.05.2026

On May 9, 2026, the staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Georgia held a commemorative event dedicated to Victory Day.

Diplomats, Embassy employees and their family members, as well as representatives of the Belarusian diaspora organization in Georgia, visited the Kukia Cemetery in Tbilisi — a place of special remembrance and mourning, where wounded soldiers of the Soviet Army who underwent treatment in Tbilisi military hospitals during the Great Patriotic War are buried.

With particular reverence and deep respect, work was carried out to locate memorial plaques bearing the names of compatriots buried on this land. Every name discovered is not merely an inscription on stone, but a human destiny, a feat, courage, and a memory that we are obliged to preserve for future generations.

Such places remind us of the tremendous price of Victory and of the people who gave their lives for peace and freedom. Bowing our heads in memory of the fallen heroes, we express our sincere gratitude to the generation of victors and reaffirm that their feat will never be forgotten.
