Trade and economic cooperation

Trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Georgia remains constructive and mutually beneficial, covering a wide range of areas of bilateral interaction.

An important mechanism for coordinating joint efforts is the Belarus-Georgia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. On March 17, 2026, the 7th meeting of the Commission was held in Tbilisi, during which the parties discussed issues related to increasing mutual trade, developing industrial cooperation, as well as cooperation in the fields of transportation, agriculture, education, healthcare, civil aviation, and tourism. A corresponding protocol was signed following the meeting.

Cooperation in the field of transportation is a separate area of bilateral interaction. On May 28–29, 2026, a meeting of the Belarusian-Georgian Joint Commission on International Road Transport took place. During the meeting, the relevant agencies exchanged up-to-date information on the state of the international road transport market and signed the minutes of the Commission’s meeting. The document approves an increase in the final quotas for permits to carry out freight and passenger transport in international road transport for 2026.

A practical framework has been established in Georgia for the promotion, sale, and after-sales service of Belarusian products. The country is home to sales and service centers for Belarusian machinery operated by OJSC “MTZ”, OJSC “BZTDiA”, and OJSC “Gomselmash”.

Belarusian food products are available at specialty stores for Belarusian food products — “Belarusian House”, “Belmart”, and “Bulbaland” — in Tbilisi, Batumi, Zugdidi, Poti, Kutaisi, Gori, and Telavi, as well as in stores belonging to Georgian retail chains.

In addition, Tbilisi is home to brand-name stores operated by CJSC “Pinskdrev”, JV “Mark Formel”, and CJSC “Milavitsa”. Batumi features stores operated by JV “Mark Formel” and OJSC “Krasny Pishchevyk”.
