Belarusian community
There are over 12,000 Belarusians and people who identify as ethnic Belarusians living in Georgia. But there are only two diaspora organizations.
The first Belarusian organization in Georgia was the Association of Belarusians of Georgia “Belaruskija Syabry”, established in 2010. Since its founding, the organization has been headed by Alexander Zhilyaev.

Since 2024, the organization has significantly expanded its activities. Members of the Belarusian diaspora have actively participated in events organized by the Embassy aimed at promoting cultural cooperation, preserving and promoting Belarusian cultural heritage, as well as patriotic initiatives launched by the national government authorities of the Republic of Belarus. In both 2024 and 2025, Alexander Zhilyaev took part in the meetings of the Consultative Council on Belarusians Abroad under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
In March 2026, another Belarusian organization, the Association of Belarusians of Batumi, was established and officially registered in Batumi. The organization is headed by Veronika Chichko.
You can become a member of these organizations and stay informed about their activities through the Belarus–Georgia Telegram channel.
