Current agreements on the liberalization of Georgia's trade regimes
Georgia is one of the leaders in the region in terms of the number of free trade agreements.
The Georgian government has concluded free trade agreements with 45 countries around the world:
27 EU countries: (agreement on a deep and comprehensive free trade area signed on September 1, 2014): Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, France, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Estonia;
9 CIS countries: Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Tajikistan. Trade relations with CIS countries, except for Uzbekistan, Russia, and Georgia, are governed by the Resolution of the Council of Heads of CIS States “On the Rules Determining the Country of Origin of Goods” dated November 30, 2000. Trade relations with Uzbekistan are governed by an earlier resolution of the Council of Heads of CIS States dated September 24, 1993.
4 countries of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA): Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland (agreement signed on June 27, 2016);
The United Kingdom (the Strategic Partnership Agreement was signed on October 21, 2019);
Ukraine, China (signed on May 13, 2017), Hong Kong (June 28, 2018), and Turkey.
